My First Summer Goal

(image via we heart it)

Awhile back I made a list of things that I'd like to do this summer and one of those was to run a race. Today I registered myself and my older sister for a 10k held here in Eugene on the 4th of July, the Butte to Butte! I'm a little nervous that it's only a month away, but I know that it's a good challenge for me and a great way to stay motivated. Hopefully I can report that I finished without too much trouble and I can't wait to cross more things off my list!

Dress it up with TOMS

I was having a conversation the other night with Jesse about how we rarely dress up anymore. We could probably go out to dinner at any restaurant in town wearing jeans and a t-shirt and no one would think twice. We do live in a smaller town so that has a lot to do with it, but I do miss living in a city where heels and a dress are every day wear. In an effort to dress up my look without sacrificing comfort, I think these new wedges from TOMS would be perfect!

Cleobella

Cleobella is an amazing handbag shop that designed these adorable boho bags just for Free People. I absolutely love them! They'd be perfect for a day at the beach, farmers market or a picnic at the park.

In addition to the boho bags, they make gorgeous leather handbags, clutches and wallets. I'll take them all, please!

Craving Lavender Lemonade

Even though it's raining today and there is no sign of the sun, all I want to do is sit outside and sip some lavender lemonade. Doesn't it look tasty? Here's the recipe:

3 cups granulated sugar
3 cups water
1/4 cup dried lavender
4 cups fresh lemon juice (from 16 to 20 lemons)
Ice, for serving
Lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs, for garnish

Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Stir in lavender. Remove from heat, and let stand for 10 minutes. Strain, discarding lavender. Let cool. Stir in lemon juice. (Lemonade can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week.) Serve over ice, and garnish with lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs. Makes 12 servings.

Welcome Tuesday

Long, 3 day weekends no longer have the same meaning to me. It's sad, but true. I primarily work from home, so I have the freedom to work when I want, but that also means I usually work on the weekends as well. So, while the majority of people I know were enjoying a responsibility-free Monday I was not. And, to top it all off it was gloomy and overcast.

Sigh... today I'm letting my mind wander to a lovely, warm and quite place like this. Just me and my man.
